Bebé Glotón: Breastfeeding Baby

When I first came across this story I thought to myself NO WAY, but this story is true. Bebé Glotón, which is an infant doll made by Spain Toy maker Berjuan. The doll's purpose? To promote breastfeeding! The idea is to show kids that breastfeeding is a normal and natural occurrence after becoming a new mother. To read the full story CLICK HERE I myself think this is just a bit too much! However as usual I love to hear your thoughts. So what's your take on this?

Lisa's Story

Hi Tecolia, I know that you have already posted that you are back in the gym and on the right track with exercise. I am trying as well to! The problem is that I have been having a very hard time with getting these pounds off! The exercising tips were helpful but what about the eating habits? Do you have any tips on what I should eat?
Lisa Hardony

Hi Lisa! Like I've posted before exercise is definitely an important key! However eating right is also important as you've stated. My suggestion to you is try switching up the types of food you intake daily instead of a full blown diet! Like instead of getting white bread, try wheat, or the whole grain bread. Start shopping at your local Amish Markets and so forth for Fruits and Vegetables! They come strictly from their farms and have great deals! Also don't just go cold turkey on not buying the things you enjoy. I recommend that you buy them but less of it. Stock up on water and drink as much water as possible. It's mainly a mind thing. It's so easy to get discouraged when your not seeing results like you want, but my advice to you is stick with it and eventually you'll see the results. Remember losing weight gradually is much healthier than losing it so quickly! When you do that the weight loss that you have experienced is most likely to stay off longer!

Rewarding Your Child

As we all know people respond better to being rewarded or congratulated than to constantly being criticized. The same goes for children of all ages 0+. So when your child has done something whether it’s helping you to clean up, cook, or whatever the case may be. Even if they’re actually making a bigger mess try rewarding your child for the simple fact that their heart is in the right place. Doing that encourages them to push further in life. You’ll be surprised how that little encouragement will go a long ways!

Addressing Issues

Hello everyone!!! I received the numerous of messages regarding the search box! Everything is fixed so you should have no problem searching up past posts. However for the topic of Overbearing Grandmothers you must type it in the search box this way (Overbearing Grandmothers') I apologize for the inconvenience. As soon as possible I will have that title fixed as well! Now to address something else that has come to my attention, there are male users on this site of course as it's intended for everybody. So starting tomorrow there will be a new segment called Daddy's Time! I hope all of the fathers out there enjoy!

Tantrums Again!

Even though we have touched this subject once before we didn’t really go into it thoroughly. Tantrums are a part of a toddlers make up! You may see yourself constantly telling your child "Your gonna have time out if you don’t stop your tantrum," or "You are not allowed to have this toy if you keep it up!" My daughter can sometimes seem like the queen of tantrums, however I have noticed that she is beginning to understand that this phase isn’t right. When I point out to her that her having a tantrum is going to get a favorite toy or movie time taken away for the day she automatically stops! My daughter loves to be rewarded as all children do even if it's just her telling her that she did an awesome job! Or that she is a good girl! How are some of the ways that you deal with your child and their tantrums? Are the tantrums getting even better or worse? Let’s chat!

So yesterday I posted about the Discovery Museum and how I feel that it's a great place to take your kids! Well today I want to hear from all of you! There are only a hand full of museums out there for toddlers. My question to you is do you out there know of any more museums and so forth just strictly for the toddler crowd? I would love to hear you feed back all weekend long! Thanks!

Discovery Museum/Please Touch

If you have ever been to the Discovery Museum, or in some states The Please Touch Museum as soon as you step in you automatically know it’s a world for the kids! As the seats, to the golf course, the restaurant, even the theater and basketball court is customized to the children. The parents just have to get in where they fit in! I took my daughter there for her birthday, she loved it, and so did I! Even though it’s not exactly a Family Fun Getaway I felt this is a great place to take your kids, and the whole family can enjoy. It’s even affordable, admission is only $10 dollars, and at the beginning of every month if you are a Bank Of America customer admission is totally free! So to check it out just click on Discovery Museum and Bank Of America for more details! Even though this discovery museum link directs you to the NJ's Discovery Museum, I wanted to let you know that almost every state has one! Just google it and you should find it.

Mommy Groups

As you all know I’m totally for the mommy groups! I feel that the mommy groups are healthy. It’s basically a great chance to connect with other moms while your child gets to connect with other kids. The atmosphere to me is great! The activities and trips they have planned are just fantastic. But I want to know how you all feel about this. So let’s go!

Answering Questions

Hey everyone! I'm posting to let you all know that I have finally answered all of your questions from the previous post title Getting To Know Each Other. All you have to do is type the title in the search box and it will come up! Thanks for all of your questions!

Wrong Entertainment

Doctors say that letting your kids watch too much television, "entertainment television" in particularly can hinder your child's speaking ability. Doctors say that it can slow down their speech process and to spend at least 15 minutes a day reading with your child. While I and a lot of parents agree with this study other's don't. How about you guys? What's your take on it?

What Type Of Vitamins Are You Giving Your Kids?

As we all know by now, it is very important that our children get the right nutrients and so forth. One thing that’s always been recommended by physicians is giving your child vitamins. As I’ve stated before in previous posts I usually give my daughter the Flintstones vitamins. However some people disagree with doctors on that and usually do different things like just going completely organic and feeding their child mainly fruits, vegetables, and of the sort(which in my opinion is probably the best way, but also very time consuming). While others prefer to go herbal. Well I would like to hear from you! Do you give your children vitamins at all? Or do you disagree with the doctors, and opt not to give your child vitamins but use other sources?

Mommy Grants

Did you know there are alot of grants available for the average mother? Ok so I'm always seeing or hearing this phrase all over the web and on television but seem to get absolutely no where! I recently came across this site called Scholarships 4 Moms. This site seemed to be pretty helpful and doesn't lead you to a dead end with no practical results. I was actually impressed. And not only is it for moms but for dads as well! To check out the site click here. I would love to hear your results and feedback!

Music For The Baby

Goodmorning! Today I decided to start off with the topic Music For The Baby. For this topic I will be joining in on the discussion very heavily, so let's get to it! As we all know music is very powerful and influential. As your baby develops from an infant on up you can't help but to notice your child find his or hers own rhythm. However the type of music your child should listen to has been spoken on a few times. Like some random studies show that Classical Music can help stimulate your child's brain in very positive way, however R&B and Rap music doesn't necessarily get the thumbs up for music that you should be playing for your baby. In my opinion I think that your child should be subjected to all types of music, but monitored. There are somethings that I personally believe a baby should not be listening as some music is too explicit, whether it's in a Rap, R&B, Pop, or Rock 'n' Roll song. I guess what I'm trying to get at is why is "R&B Music" looked on as not being good music for your baby to listen to. I don't get it because if you look at all of the commercials, and even alot of the cartoons, they are heavily influenced with rhythm and blues music but alot of the times is stamped with the label "Pop Music". So what is your take on this?
