Are you covered?...................
On December 24Th, this past Thursday Congress approved the new health care bill to guarantee that everyone would be able to get health care insurance. This is the first time since 1895 that the Senate gathered to vote on Christmas Eve. While some are for the bill a lot of people are up in arms about it. Here are two sides/opinions regarding the passing of the bill. To read them just click Aipnews and NY Times. Under this bill there are claims to be free abortion, check-ups, visits to the doctors when they are sick.

Bebé Glotón: Breastfeeding Baby
When I first came across this story I thought to myself NO WAY, but this story is true. Bebé Glotón, which is an infant doll made by Spain Toy maker Berjuan. The doll's purpose? To promote breastfeeding! The idea is to show kids that breastfeeding is a normal and natural occurrence after becoming a new mother. To read the full story CLICK HERE I myself think this is just a bit too much! However as usual I love to hear your thoughts. So what's your take on this?

Mommy Groups
As you all know I’m totally for the mommy groups! I feel that the mommy groups are healthy. It’s basically a great chance to connect with other moms while your child gets to connect with other kids. The atmosphere to me is great! The activities and trips they have planned are just fantastic. But I want to know how you all feel about this. So let’s go!

Hand Sanitizers
Hand Sanitizers seem to come in handy for those times when soap and water is not available and you truly need it! However there is a dispute on using Hand Sanitizers. Some doctors say that you should not use too much as it can start to thin out the protection of your skin, while others say it can harm the brain cells for small children. Whatever the case may be there is a dispute over it. So what's your take on it?

555 Pound 14 Year Old Boy
Today I had a whole different line up in store. That is until I ran across this. A story of a South Carolina 14 year old boy who weighs 555 pounds! His mother Jerri Gray, is currently in prison and is facing charges of felony child neglect. Awhile back Gray told CBS News that she works late shifts, which leaves her little time to prepare healthy meals for her son. I have my own thoughts on this topic, but I would like to hear your feed back. So what's your take on this? To read the full story Click Here!

Child Daycare
Most parents can't really afford to be a stay at home mother, even though they may really want to. So the hunt for a babysitter or daycare center comes into play! As some parents are fortunate enough to have someone they really trust like family, friends, or whomever to watch their little ones. Others just don't have that option available. Finding a good daycare center is alot of time and can be very expensive! I was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with my daughter and work! However I did look at a few possible preschools that I was interested in sending my daughter to so that she can continue to interact with kids when we aren't in our mommy group and to also be prepare her for that classroom feel. One school that I came to be very impressed with is The Goddard School. The Goddard school actually starts from 0 months and up! How about you? Are you ready to put your child in daycare or preschool? Have you found one that is good for your child? Or have you figured out other means? Let's discuss it! To check out The Goddard School Click Here!

Too many shots!
As you all can see I saved this topic for last as it’s very controversial. Most doctors say that children should have all of their shots before starting school. Giving children their shots is a way to protect them from different diseases and so forth. However many people disagree with doctors giving so many shots to infants and kids period! Some people are trying to prove that giving children their shots at such an early age contributes to Autism. Some parents withhold their kids from having their shots and some doctors seem to disapprove greatly. So as usual I want to know your take on this as I will be very active in this conversation as well. Please remember to be respectful to others while stating your opinion.
As for me and my opinion I am one of those parents who thinks that there shouldn't be so many shots given to infants. I can remember taking my daughter to the doctor and I was so concerned that I eventually had the doctor to spread them out. Making sure not give my daughter too many shots at once. Although my daughter is caught up on her shots now, I still think that it’s just too much for babies and toddlers.

What Type Of Vitamins Are You Giving Your Kids?
As we all know by now, it is very important that our children get the right nutrients and so forth. One thing that’s always been recommended by physicians is giving your child vitamins. As I’ve stated before in previous posts I usually give my daughter the Flintstones vitamins. However some people disagree with doctors on that and usually do different things like just going completely organic and feeding their child mainly fruits, vegetables, and of the sort(which in my opinion is probably the best way, but also very time consuming). While others prefer to go herbal. Well I would like to hear from you! Do you give your children vitamins at all? Or do you disagree with the doctors, and opt not to give your child vitamins but use other sources?

Baby Manners Matter
For me teaching my daughter manners like please and thank you came so easily, it was just a breeze! As my daughter always ask me "Mommy can you get me something to drink please?" or "Can you turn on Tinker Bell please?" Whenever something is given to her she says thank you! I noticed that apart of her picking up these manners might be because I practice them myself around her. As with children they look to their parents as role models before anyone else. With some people it’s not as easy to get their children to have manners even if they are being polite and showing good manners themselves. So how about you? Is your child picking up good manners and how are you trying to enforce good behavioral manners in your home? Or is it a difficult process?

Music For The Baby
Goodmorning! Today I decided to start off with the topic Music For The Baby. For this topic I will be joining in on the discussion very heavily, so let's get to it! As we all know music is very powerful and influential. As your baby develops from an infant on up you can't help but to notice your child find his or hers own rhythm. However the type of music your child should listen to has been spoken on a few times. Like some random studies show that Classical Music can help stimulate your child's brain in very positive way, however R&B and Rap music doesn't necessarily get the thumbs up for music that you should be playing for your baby. In my opinion I think that your child should be subjected to all types of music, but monitored. There are somethings that I personally believe a baby should not be listening as some music is too explicit, whether it's in a Rap, R&B, Pop, or Rock 'n' Roll song. I guess what I'm trying to get at is why is "R&B Music" looked on as not being good music for your baby to listen to. I don't get it because if you look at all of the commercials, and even alot of the cartoons, they are heavily influenced with rhythm and blues music but alot of the times is stamped with the label "Pop Music". So what is your take on this?
