Religion Baby

Religion is a common battle that most parents have if they come from two different backgrounds. Most times either parent prefers their child to become apart of their religion. I did not have this problem as my daughter's father and I are both of the Christian faith. Even though my religion is Evangelist and her father's religion is of another we always had a common ground on that. I would like to know is this a frequent discussion in your household, is it a problem in your household, and how do you plan on solving it? For this topic I will actually be responding to comments so feel free to talk!

  1. Oh Yes this a brewing convo in our house. I am baptist my husband is jehovas witness. I think this is ridiculous for him to even want our baby to follow his religion cause he does not follow it at all! As for me I am very adamant about my religion, so this is really starting to become a seious problem. Do you have any advice?

  2. There aren't any worries in my household about religion because my boyfriend and I are the exact same religion! Thank God for that one.

  3. Yeah religion isn't the biggest problem in my house either however I do want to my kids to follow in my family footsteps with being catholic. I noticed you said you'll be answering questions so my question is should I expose my children to both religions and let them be apart of both?

    @Michelle: My Answer:
    Hello Michelle, I am very glad that you are very adamant about religion. In my opinion I believe that you and your husband should focus more on teaching your child how to build his relationship with God. Which is more important than anything, and from there let your child choose what religion he would like to become. This is only my opinion and I hope this helps!

    Hello NMJones, my answer to you is going to kind of mimic what I said to Michelle. Which is just focus on teaching and showing your child how to build his or her relationship with God. You don't want to confuse your child. So I would reccomend that you let your child choose when they get older. Thank you so much for asking a question NMJones I really appreciate it as I realize you are a faithful commentater thanks!

    Oh thats cool you answered. religion was a problem. becareful who date, marry. Religion plays a big part. that was a big part of why my son and his father are not together. You definitely need to come to an understanding with that.
